School Closure Dates

Effective Monday, March 16, 2020 Huntington Park High School will be closed all learning will take place online. Fall Semester will also begin with Distance Learning.

Internet/Wifi Resources

Both Charter Communications and Comcast are offering free internet for low-income families impacted by the Corona Virus. 

  • Charter: Families can call (844) 488-8395 to enroll. Installation fees will be waived for new student households.
  • Comcast: To sign up, applicants can simply visit this link.
    • There are also two dedicated phone numbers 1-855-846-8376 for English and 1-855-765-6995 for Spanish.

Community Resources

While our school facilities will be closed, plans are in place for students to continue to learn during this time, and on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 LAUSD will open 60 Grab and Go Food Centers to provide two nutritious meals a day (Monday-Friday) for our students. All locations will be operational between the hours of 7:00 am to 10:00 am. The locations closest to HPHS are:

Gage Middle School

Marquez Senior High School

Bell High School

Television and Video Learning Resources

As Los Angeles Unified closes schools, the public media stations are prepared to unveil a curated schedule of programming and digital resources that will be broadcast as follows:

  • PBS SoCal (Daytime programming from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pre-K through 2nd grade)
  • KLCS-TV (Daytime Programming would highlight content for Pre-K through 12th grade from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. with additional educational programming in the evenings)
  • KCET (Daytime programming: 9th grade through 12th grade)
  • Additional educational programming on PBS SoCal and KLCS digital channels

The CA Department of Education has, as part of the COVID-19 Guidance for K-12 Schools, published a list of resources and applications that support distance learning.
