ABOUT ME

I am a first generation Hungarian-American who was born in NYC and grew up in West Hollywood and Santa Monica. I was also the first member in my family to attend college, graduating from UCLA with a B.A. in Sociology. After working in the music industry for 10 years, I pivoted to becoming a teacher. I feel very fortunate to have had careers involving both of my passions. I married my high school sweetheart and we have a son who attends high school at our alma mater, Santa Monica High.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I am determined to help students succeed and achieve their dreams and goals. I use my struggles and experiences of being a child of immigrants to help guide my own students to college and a solid career. For this reason, I am very thoughtful, purposeful, and practical in my approach to teaching English Language Arts. In fact, our entire ELA Department is dedicated to teaching to the standards with research-based methods and academic rigor.

Welcome STUDENTS AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS!

Hello, I'm Ms. Clark. This is my 13th year of teaching at HPHS. I love having Spartan Pride! Currently, I teach ELA for the S.T.E.A.M. Magnet. I am also the ELA Department Chair.
