Our summer reading goal this year is for all students to read at least one (or more) book(s) over break. Below you will find book suggestions from our teachers for your grade level group. Once you finish reading a book please complete the reading log form below.

Once you finish reading a book, fill out this form. Your Teacher Librarian will be keeping record of your logs.
LAUSD has partnered with Snapchat for a virtual Book Club. Celebrities such as Alicia Keys, Russell Westbook, Noah Centineo, and Kendall Jenner will share about their favorite books. Participation is voluntary. You may also choose to get a free copy of each of the book(s) in this virtual book club.

- To find the A-List Book Club on Snapchat, use the direct image link above or in Snapchat go to search, type in "The A-List Book Club", and subscribe.
- To obtain your free copy of the book(s) all you need to do is swipe up when the video is over, sign in with your SSO (mymail account), and download.

Access Free e-Books and Audiobooks Through
All LAUSD students have a LAPL Student Success library card account. You will need your Card Number and your PIN. If you do not know your card number or pin click here to fill out the verification form or call LAPL InfoNow number at 213-228-7272.
They have a few options you can use to read/listen on online on your computer/tablet, or you may even download an app on your phone. Here are a few of your e-media options:
To access LA County Library E-books (or audio books) you will need:
- Your LA County Library card
- Your PIN
- A computer or device with internet access

To log-in you will need to type in:
- School name: Huntington Park High School
- Username: HPHSreads
- Password: HPHSreads
Once you click log-in, you will be in the Spartan E-book Library. Feel free to browse. You do not need to check out books on this platform to read them. Just make sure you accept the pop-ups or the books will not load.
However, if you want to check out a book, you may. To do so, log in to the Spartan E-Book Library Portal, go to log in at the top, click register. Create a username and password - do not share this with others. You will only need to register one time. Log-in. Begin searching searching and checkout books with your personal account.
