WHAT IS AVID?

AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination and our main goal is to get our students college and career-ready.  While almost all students possess the desire to attend college, we understand that there are factors that may make the road to college difficult.  To address these issues, we make sure to target students that are historically underrepresented, who will be first in their family to attend college and students who tend to fall into the middle range for grades.

Our program equips students with a variety of college and career-related information that range from SAT Prep, college field trips, guest speakers, mock interviews, resume building, and community service opportunities. However, besides these items, AVID's main focus is to ensure that all students are ready for class by practicing organization, note-taking, public speaking, study skills, and study groups.

If you are interested in joining the AVID family, please contact our coordinator for information.
