C.T.E CONSTRUCTION
C.T.E Construction

The Construction courses at Huntington Park are designed to teach basic skills for the construction trades through a course rich in connections to construction projects. These hands-on projects range from individual woodworking designs to group collaboration builds.  The course covers basic construction math; measurement and scale, blueprint reading, safety, procedural use of hand and power tools and the history and current opportunities found through formal skilled trades apprenticeship.  Putting relevant construction math to use while building will increase students' likelihood of success in those subjects as well.  Students acquire these skills using technology and real-world problem solving. Integrated throughout the course are foundation standards, which include communication, ethics, interpersonal/team skills, critical thinking, and other employment skills needed for the 21st Century.

Therefore, the mission of our Construction program is to bridge the gap between education and employment with an emphasis on presenting the many opportunities of diversity, equity, and inclusion for our students as they strive to be the future leaders in the Building and Construction Industry.
